Adoption Fair, May 18, MadCat West, on Mineral Point Rd

Date: Saturday, May 18, 2024
Time: 11 AM to 2 PM
Location: MadCat Pet Supply, 7820 Mineral Point Road

Kittens and cats from 9 Lives are coming to MadCat’s Mineral Point Road location! If you’re hoping to adopt a new feline family member, this is the place to be! Join us on May 18 from 11 to 2.

Who will YOU meet at MadCat? Check out our adoptable kitties here. Let us know if there’s a specific one you’d like to meet, and we can make sure he or she is there – or we can make arrangements to suit you.

Be sure to submit an adoption application, especially if you’re hoping to take your new kitty home that day! Please allow several days for us to process your application. A real human will contact your references and confirm your status.

IMPORTANT: kittens under 12 weeks must be adopted with another kitten or go to a home with another age-appropriate cat. 9 Lives’ policy recognizes that cats are very social animals, and kittens will be happier and healthier if they can socialize with another kitten.

A big thank you to MadCat Pet Supplies for hosting us!

Thank you, Kibble 4 A Cause!

The 9 Lives Rescue coffers are $1,685 happier now, all due to the wonderful Kibble 4 A Cause radiothon fundraiser! 9 Lives’ Anna Goebel (far right) is shown at the station with Ski from JJO (also holding the presentation check) and the radio personalities from the other three participating stations. From left to right in the back: Pat Gallagher from Magic 98, Miranda from The Resistance, Kristi from Q106.

Live broadcasts were made from the event, held April 11, by all four stations. Donations poured in from the supportive community and sponsors. The event was held at Barks on Bourbon in Cross Plains.

In-kind donations were also dropped off at the event, including cat and kitten food, litter, toys and supplies. We took home quite a mountain of goodies provided by generous donors and sponsors.

Thank you to everyone who made this event possible, but especially to the local radio stations – 94.1 JJOMagic 98106.7 The Resistance, and Q106! They not only do a great job of organizing and promoting this event, they genuinely care about the work we do and the animals we help. We feel seen and supported, and we can’t thank them enough!

Willy’s Back From Surgery!

Willy is back from surgery! Such a happy boy! This kitty has been through so much, but his affectionate nature is still strong! He looooves to be brushed, loves snuggles and head rubs. The UW veterinarian called him “perfect in every way,” and temporary foster Anna confirms that he is irresistibly lovable.

Willy can finally breathe freely! Willy had surgery to repair his damages larynx, because he had trouble breathing. In the video, part of what you hear is power purring, but his breathing is audible even when he’s not purring. That will gradually go away (or mostly) as the swelling goes down.

9 Lives Rescue is still accepting donations to help cover the cost of Willy’s surgery. A very specialized procedure, this surgery was especially costly. Please help if you can, by donating here. Thank you.

Bottle Feeding Kittens

Bottle feeding kittens is in full swing at 9 Lives Rescue! We so much appreciate our fosters who give up sleep to keep the babies fed! On the plus side, they get to watch their little kitten ears wiggle as they nurse. That’s a dose of happiness right there.
