A Tribute to My Friend
and Animal Lover,
Cynthia Thomas Pultz

I have always gravitated to people in life who love animals. These are people I truly admire, people who often go out of their way to help an animal in need. My friend, Cindy loves dogs. Cindy was one of those people who possessed a profound heart for the well-being of all animals, everywhere. There are many wonderful sides to Cindy that I could share with you, but I think her love for animals should be remembered here, after all, her passion for animals was at the heart of who she was throughout her life. I easily call her my sister, an animal loving warrior on the path to make the world a better place for all animals.

When I first met Cindy and her twin sister, Sandy, and her younger sister, Marcy, many years ago, I also had the pleasure of meeting the family dog, Moose. Moose was a wonderfully scruffy white dog that simply loved being around us kids. I believe Cindy’s relationship with Moose, helped to establish a deep passion for dogs that was destined to be expressed throughout her life. Over the years Cindy made a place for many dogs in her home, turning each one into a family member and ensuring there was a meal made of love and served with a kind heart everyday.

Cindy would go on to adopt and love many dogs, including Buck, Bonnie and Clyde who spent their years being loved and cared for by Cindy. When these dogs passed away, she did what so many animal lovers do, she adopted three more dogs Josie, Calamity Jane and Wyatt Earp. When I learned of Cindy’s passing last week some of my initial thoughts were of her three dogs, her babies and the loss they are feeling as the days pass. I wish I could hold her dogs, for her, to let them know that she went on ahead of them to make a place for them, later down the road. I am sure the dogs in heaven rallied to welcome Cindy. After all, if all dogs go to heaven, then so do all animal lovers.

Recently, Linked Up For Animals (LUFA) ran a fundraising campaign to raise money for the LUFA App. A generous donation was made anonymously. I was anxious to see who the kindness had come from and when I discovered it was my friend, Cindy, my heart swelled.  She confided in me, that she did not want anyone to know, she just wanted to show support in what I was doing for animals. My eyes are full of tears as I write these lines, she was truly one of the kindest people I know.

Cindy, was a daughter, a sister, a wife, and damn funny friend. Her loss has left a gaping hole in our world that is waiting for the next animal lover to report for duty and pick up where Cindy left off. Cindy, please hold a place at the table for me, my friend, I will look for you when I get there. In the meantime, I will continue to grow Linked Up For Animals, with thoughts of you lingering in the most important part of my being, my heart. As I finish these words in your honor, I know you are surrounded by many dogs that have already crossed the rainbow bridge, enjoy them.

Soul Sister Cindy, with much love and respect,
Teri

What Our Clients Are Saying

Hi, my name is Tippy. After I was rescued, I spent time at Marshall’s Piggy Paradise meeting friends like Kat who volunteered through Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. You may not know this, but it is hard for us to trust humans.

To start, life was really hard for me. I was so hungry, I was eating dirt. I had wasted away to just skin and bones when Reality's Chance Sanctuary rescued me. They gave me good food and lots of love, which got me feeling much better.

I was so cold that first day. Teri found us on the freezing cold cement. My three siblings had already passed away and mom was nowhere in sight. Teri wasn’t sure what to do, but my situation was so bad she just couldn’t leave me there.
