ANOTHER SEASON OF HORSE DEATHS. Two young racehorses died during the opening weekend of California’s Del Mar racetrack’s fall season. A 5-year-old gelding collapsed and died while walking to the barn after the race. Two days later, a 6-year-old gelding collapsed at the track and later died. Both incidents were reported as sudden deaths. Such loss of life is not unusual in horse racing. Far from harmless, the physical strain of racing takes its toll on the animals, with many suffering bleeding lungs, bone and muscle damage, and other (including drug-related) injuries which can lead to death. How you can help:❌Do not attend or bet on animal races.✅ Protest local horse races on social media or in person✅ Contact your local and federal legislators and urge them to support legislation to protect horses: https://bit.ly/contactUSlegislators✅ Sign the petition: https://ladyfreethinker.org/sign-ban-brutal-state-sanctioned-horse-racing-in-california Please spread the word about the hidden suffering behind horse racing.
a Guest I really hate that animals are used for any kind of entertainment for humans. The circus, horse or dog racing, zoos, just to name a few. 1 year ago
