The thought-provoking documentary, ANIMA, will be screened at the Awareness Film Festival, this Thursday, October 6th at 6pm. The film, which features ADI footage, challenges preconceptions of what religion actually says about our relationship with and responsibility toward other species.
ANIMA was made, and generously funded, by The Guibord Center - Religion Inside Out, as a way to share ADI's work with a strong message of compassion towards animals.
If you are in the Los Angeles area, invite your friends and family to the ANIMA screening. Net profits from the event go completely to charity.

Operation Lion Ark was the culmination of a two-year ADI undercover investigation of Latin American circuses with an intense campaign which led to Bolivia being the first country in the world to ban ALL animals in circuses. See the transformation of these animals’ lives and a joyous finale as 25 lions are airlifted to freedom.
Lion Ark is available to stream through EarthStream, and $30 of annual subscriptions through the link below will be donated to ADI. $30 would fund fuel for a firefighter for a month, putting out wildfires, keeping the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary (ADIWS) and its animal residents safe. The recent fire that swept into the Sanctuary was a reminder of the devastating potential of wildfires. Aside from the urgent need to repair equipment and vehicles, we must also install extended fire protection measures around our residents’ habitats.
Subscribe here and your subscription will directly benefit ADIWS and our residents (no advertisements, no contracts, and you can cancel anytime): earthstream.app/Lion-Ark/

The Georgia State Fair is currently hosting a White Tiger Display at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Ga. The tigers will be on display “All day, Every day” through Sunday, October 9. These acts do nothing to teach people about the intelligence, sentience and communications of tigers, what they need or how they live in the wild. Big cats in traveling acts are confined in small cages, deprived of innate physical and social needs, and spend excessive time shut in trailers. These animals often demonstrate abnormal behaviors, like pacing, indicating they are in distress and not coping with their environment.
HELP END THESE SHAMEFUL ACTS – SHARE, SPREAD THE WORD & ASK THE FAIR TO END THEIR USE OF PERFORMING WILD ANIMALS.
The fair is being produced by Universal Fairs. Please call, email or message both Universal Fairs and the Georgia State Fair TODAY and politely ask them NOT to include the big cat exhibits or other wild animal acts at their events.

In 2019, police officers in Buenos Aires, Argentina, confiscated a six month old cougar named Lola Limon, found tied up in front of a house. The public prosecutor requested that the “sentient being” be declared “a subject of rights” and that the cougar “be granted her complete freedom, free of any measure or legal restriction, with definitive legal custody granted” to Buenos Aires’ Interactive Ecopark. Lola Limon, now three years old, is in “sufficient physical condition to undergo the first step of treatment,” including a chance to be returned to her natural environment from which she was illegally taken.
The court has recently ruled that the cougar was a subject of rights, and referenced other caselaw, as well as the 1977 Universal Declaration of Animal Rights (UN, UNESCO), which states that “All animals are born with an equal claim on life and the same rights to existence” and the stipulation that all animals are entitled to the right to respect, attention, care, and protection from humankind.
We hope that this ruling sets a precedent for similar court cases and legislation in other countries. Show more

ALL RESIDENTS & PERSONNEL SAFE AFTER HEROIC BATTLE TO FIGHT FLAMES. Please give today as we rebuild. donate.adiusa.org/sanctuary/
On Friday 16th, a neighboring property had set a fire as a ‘controlled’ burn and within 40 minutes they had lost control. A wall of flame surged through the northern perimeter of the sanctuary. ADIWS staff battled the flames on the hillside and got our animal residents into their safe zones. Neighbors also arrived with their fire fighters to assist.
The ADIWS team finally stopped the fire within yards of Sasha tiger and lions Tarzan and Tanya’s habitats. Our fire protocols worked and saved lives.
Our fire protocol requires that all the lions and tigers are immediately brought into their feeding camps and night houses, which are soaked with water. Every habitat has a hose, water supply and fire extinguisher, our team were also armed with beaters and blowers, high-pressure fire fighters on six vehicles (staff used their own vehicles) which drove into the flames and our system of firebreaks helped slow the blaze, allowing the team to steadily get control.
Up to 50 acres of the ADIWS have been left scorched, two vehicles, radios, hoses, solar panels and energisers for fences, water supply, security cameras and our perimeter fence have all been badly damaged. But every resident is safe. PLEASE GIVE URGENTLY FOR REPAIRS to equipment and vehicles, and to expand our water system around the habitats. Please help spread the word. donate.adiusa.org/sanctuary/ Show more

TODAY IS THE #TEAPSPA DAY OF ACTION TO END CIRCUS SUFFERING IN THE US.
Get loud for circus animals across the US. Please email your legislators and urge them to cosponsor the Traveling Exotic Animal & Public Safety Protection Act (HR5999/S3220).
Studies of the use of wild animals in traveling circuses show that circuses cannot provide for the physical, behavioral, or psychological needs of wild animals. Animals are confined in small spaces, deprived of physical and social needs, spending excessive amounts of time shut in trailers. They perform through fear, not enjoyment, and are routinely subjected to violence and brutal training methods.
HELP END THIS FOR GOOD. Join fellow animal advocates across the US in urging your Congress members to support TEAPSPA. They need to know how important this bill is to you. THE ANIMALS ARE COUNTING ON YOU. bit.ly/SupportTEAPSPA
Wherever you live, please help us reach more people by spreading the word. Every one of you can make a difference.

50 countries have already banned wild animals in circuses, most recently in Armenia – but not the United States. In all but a handful of states, it is still legal to keep elephants in chains and force them to perform tricks like this (Photographed in Pennsylvania). 50 countries have shown the way. Together, we can take off the chains, empty the cages, and transform animals’ lives in the US, just as we have done in countries like Bolivia, Peru, Guatemala and Colombia.
PLEASE SPEAK UP FOR ANIMALS SUFFERING IN US CIRCUSES. Join our #TEAPSPA Days of Action, April 19 and 21, and spread the word. On those days, we want to raise our collective voices and contact Congress members so that they hear us loud and clear – we want them to cosponsor the Traveling Exotic Animal & Public Safety Protection Act (HR5999/S3220), the federal bill to ban the use of wild and exotic animals in traveling acts across the US. SAVE THE DATE & SPREAD THE WORD. bit.ly/SupportTEAPSPA Show more

Saved from suffering in circuses in Guatemala, Peru and Colombia, the big cats now roam large natural habitats, free to do as they want, but they still enjoy the excitement of anything new, and love their new toys.
